Two wounded Ukrainian border guard hospitalized in Rostov Region

On Wednesday, July 16, two Ukrainian border guards were heavily wounded on the Rostov section of the Ukrainian-Russian border.

As reported by the press service of the Frontier Department of the Russian FSB for the Rostov Region, the information about the wounded guards arrived at the Russian border checkpoint "Kuibyshevo".

Their Russian colleagues called an ambulance; and the Ukrainian border guards promptly taken to the district hospital, the ITAR-TASS reports.

Ukrainian mass media do not report about the wounded border guards. However, they report about an armed clash of the participants of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) with separatists in the vicinity of the village of Marinovka located in the Ukrainian territory near the Russian border checkpoint "Kuibyshevo". This is reported by the "Ukrainian Truth" with reference to Vladislav Seleznyov, the head of the press centre of the ATO.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on Wednesday the staff of the checkpoint "Kuibyshevo" of the Taganrog Customs was evacuated after an explosion of a shell, allegedly fired from near the neighbouring Ukrainian checkpoint "Marinovka." Also, an unexploded artillery shell was found in the Kuibyshev District, 2 km from the border with Ukraine; it was supposedly fired from the Ukrainian territory.
