David Narmaniya offers Georgian Parliament to draft attestation rules for employees of Tbilisi Mayoralty
On July 15, David Narmaniya, the newly elected Mayor of Tbilisi, held his first consultation with the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament on the issue of attestation rules for current and future employees of the Mayoralty.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the second round of municipal elections was held in Georgia on July 12. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), in all towns and districts the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream" was the winner. According to preliminary results of the second round in Tbilisi, the Mayor David Narmaniya won 72.47% of the votes, while his rival Nikanor Meliya from the oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM) scored only 27.53%.
Narmaniya explained the idea of his novelty on air of the Georgian "Imedi" TV.
"The attestation rules will be approved by the Parliament; and on the basis thereof, the Mayoralty officials will be appointed. Of course, the qualified staff will continue working, while the rest of them – those who over the years had serviced the UNM, received money only for that and did nothing – will be dismissed from the Mayoralty," said Narmaniya.
Some of the Mayoralty officials, who occupied the key positions, have already resigned; however, no exact number is reported.
