Sappers neutralize IED in Ingushetia
On Saturday, July 19, an improvised explosive device (IED) was found in central Karabulak; it was neutralized by sappers. Prior doing it, they evacuated residents of neighbouring houses, the Ingush MIA reports.
In the afternoon, local policemen received a message from a local resident about a suspicious object, planted into a sewer well not far from a DPS (road-and-post service) post and looking like an IED. Power agents then cordoned off the area and evacuated residents of nearby houses.
Sappers realized that the bucket with wires found in the sewer manhole was really an IED. It was destroyed by "an overhead explosion in place," the RIA "Novosti" reports referring to the press service of the Ingush MIA.
Nobody was hurt during the operation.
