In Sochi, defendant Oksana Toropova succeeds in removing her electronic bracelet

On July 18, Oksana Toropova, a figurant in the case of beating a court marshal, forced the local UFSIN (Department of Russian Penitentiary Service) employees to take off her electronic bracelet.

The last court session on the case was postponed till July 16 because of Oksana Toropova's hospitalization for her pregnancy indications. The session was held without her and ruled to place her under home arrest.

According to Oksana, UFSIN agents came home to her and put an electronic bracelet, intended to track her whereabouts, on her. After the stress that she experiencing afterwards, the woman felt worse and demanded to take the bracelet off by providing the medical records about her health condition.

As a result, the UFSIN agents took the electronic bracelet off her leg and "recommended to solve the case in court."

In their turn, the family members of Oksana Toropova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they had not given their consent to install an electronic device in their apartment, needed to run the electronic bracelet.

The actions of the Adler UFSIN agents in the situation with Oksana Toropova are incorrect, said the lawyer Alexander Popkov. According to his version the agents had to ask and document in writing the consent of all the apartment dwellers and its owner to install the above electronic device.
