Ex-deputy head of Cherkessk OVD complains to ICRF about investigators
Ruslan Rakhaev, a former deputy head of the OVD (Interior Division) of the city of Cherkessk, has sent applications calling to bring investigators to criminal responsibility to the head of the Investigating Department (ID) for the Karachay-CherkessianRepublic (KChR) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 8, 2013, the Cherkessk City Court sentenced Ruslan Rakhaev to 13 years in prison, finding him guilty of abuse of power and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm to detainee Dakhir Djankezov, which caused his death. The defence of Rakhaev, which insisted on his innocence, appealed against the verdict to the Supreme Court of the KChR. A reconsideration of the case was appointed.
Rakhaev and his defence argue that Djankezov had been brought to the OVD already beaten.
In his applications to the head of the ID for the KChR, Rakhaev accuses two investigators, who had investigated the criminal case against him, of deliberate concealing the traces of the crime, falsification of proofs, deliberate destruction of exhibits, and other violations of the law.
