Georgian municipal officials receive unjustified bonuses, says NGO

The NGO named "Transparency International-Georgia" has appealed to country's top managers trying to draw their attention to the fact that some employees of local bodies of power receive undeserved monetary bonuses.

According to a study conducted by the NGO, undeserved bonuses were accrued, in particular, to employee of the administrations of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Guria, Imereti, as well as to the members of the Government of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, in the period from January to May 2014. "The malpractice of granting undeserved premiums continues, without any grounds whatsoever," says the report of the NGO.

"Statistics shows that in spite of recommendations and published studies, the situation has not changed radically," says the report of the NGO "Transparency International-Georgia", which was posted on its website on July 21.
