Advocate: Dagestani investigators ignore statement about violation of Abdulkadyrov's rights

The lawyer Arsen Radjabov, who is defending Isa Abdulkadyrov, detained in Dagestan on suspicion of illegal possession of firearms, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that investigators ignore the statement about violation by policemen of his client's rights.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 10 in the village of Nechaevka, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, power agents detained a local resident Isa Abdulkadyrov, in whose house, according to law enforcers, firearms were found. Relatives of the detainee are sure that the firearms were planted, while Abdulkadyrov said that he had self-incriminated after being beaten by policemen.

The advocate said that on July 16, he sent an application about violation of his client's rights to the Inter-District Investigating Division for the Kizilyurt District of the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), and a copy of the document – to the above ID of the ICRF. As of July 22, there was no information about the consideration of his application.

Under the law, a decision on an application concerning a crime should be made within three days, said Radjabov, adding that his client is now kept at the temporary detention facility (known as IVS) of Kizilyurt, where he is still exposed to psychological pressure.
