Convicted member of Tsapok's gang stops hunger strike, Prosecutor's Office of Krasnodar Territory reports
The convict Vladimir Alexeev, a member of the Tsapok's gang, who is kept at SIZO-1 (pre-trial prison) of Krasnodar, has abandoned his earlier announced hunger strike, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the KrasnodarTerritory has reported today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has informed with reference to Anna Mitrenko, a member of the regional Public Oversight Commission (POC), that Alekseev, who is pending the appeal against his verdict at the above SIZO, on July 15, announced an indefinite hunger strike. He demanded an investigation into the death of Sergey Tsapok, to find and punish those guilty.
"On July 19, Vladimir Alexeev wrote an application to the head of the SIZO stating that he gave up the idea of his hunger strike and would start eating from the same day on," the "Interfax" quotes its source from the Prosecutor's Office.
The Office believes that the inmate's idea had been to attract attention, the RBC reports.
