Prigorodny District of North Ossetia gives foodstuffs to needy people

A charity action of food distribution among needy families was held on July 23 in the settlement of Novy in the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia. In total, volunteers distributed some 200 packages of foodstuffs, Beslan Tsechoev, the adviser to the head of Ingushetia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Prigorodny District of North Ossetia is an area of the Ossetian-Ingush conflict, where both nationalities coexist; and over 21,000 Ingushes live there, who returned after the Ingush conflict to a number of settlements of the district. The settlement of Novy – a new one – appeared in the territory of the district, which accommodates, since 2006, the forced migrants, who earlier lived in an improvised settlement near the village of Maiskoe.

The above action in Novy was initiated by the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and organized by Republic's Ministry of Agriculture.

Beslan Tsechoev, who personally took part in the action, has added that volunteers had no "lists of needy" and determined themselves who needed help more than others.
