Russia's MFA: placement of OSCE observers at two border checkpoints in Rostov Region agreed
Observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will be placed at the checkpoints "Donetsk" and "Gukovo" in the Rostov Region on the border with Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in July, Anatoly Antonov, the Russian Deputy Defence Minister, said that Russia through OSCE channels sent a request to Ukrainian authorities in connection with the shelling of dwelling settlements of the Rostov Region and concentration of Ukrainian troops near the Russian border. Ukrainian authorities, in their turn, claim that their territory is shelled from the Rostov Region.
The checkpoints "Donetsk" and "Gukovo" will accommodate 16 OSCE observers, says the today's statement posted on the website of the Russia's MFA.
In its turn, the Ukraine's MFA insists on the presence of international observers all along the border with Russia, not only at checkpoints, says a statement posted on the website of the Ukraine's MFA.
