Dagestani power agents spread false version of Asoltan Amaev's death, relatives assert

In Dagestan, relatives of the local Asoltan Amaev, who was found on July 23 blown up in his car, question the official version of the reason for his death.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 22 Nuriya Abdulaeva, a resident of the village of Tarki, reported disappearance of her husband Asoltan Amaev. According to eyewitnesses, Amaev was forced away by power agents. On July 23 Amaev was found burned down in a GAZ-3269 car on a road in the Kumtorkalin District. It was pre-established, according to the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), that the fire was triggered by detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED).

Despite the fact that law enforcement bodies voiced the version that Amaev's death was caused by self-explosion, his relatives do not believe it, one of them, who asked not to name him, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"It all looks strange: a man is kidnapped in broad daylight in front of eyewitnesses; and then is found dead in a field as a result of self-explosion with the IED he allegedly made himself. Why don't law enforcers want to see the obvious: Asoltan was killed, and the rest was just a staging. They think that if a man had once been convicted, everyone will easily believe that he had again took a wrong track," he said.
