19-year-old activist Tatiana Borisova arrested in Krasnodar

Tatiana Borisova, an activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch), has been sentenced by the Lenin District Court of Krasnodar to eight days of administrative arrest for disobeying the police.

According to another "EcoWatch" activist, Borisova was detained in the evening on October 1, after she herself called a police unit, because the securities of the hostel, where she lives, would not let her out of the building.

"The policemen arrived, and during the talk asked Tatiana to move away from them to some distance. She refused to do it; then, they handcuffed and detained her," Dmitry Gutov, the other activist, who was with Borisova at the moment, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Dmitry Gutov said that the "EcoWatch" treats Borisova's detention and arrest as illegal and pre-planned.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, Tatiana Borisova held a solo picket in Krasnodar in support of the ecologist Evgeny Vitishko, who had been convicted for damaging the fence around the facility, known as "summer cottage" of the Krasnodar Governor Alexander Tkachov.
