FSB announces detention of seven IS supporters in Dagestan
The militants of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia, who were detained in Dagestan, had been preparing terror acts in the region of the capital, the FSB said.
The detainees "had planned to commit a series of terror acts in the region of Moscow."
"As a result of operative-search and investigatory activities, seven persons have been detained," the RIA "Novosti" quotes its source from the Public Relations Centre of the FSB.
According to the FSB, the detainees had been plotting terror acts on the instructions of the IS emissary, who was in Syria. During searches of detainees' houses, a large quantity of firearms, ammunition and grenades were confiscated, the FSB has reported.
