Relatives of activist Akhsan Nuruzade in Baku report his disappearance
Since January 24, the family of Akhsan Nuruzade, an activist of the "Muslim Unity" cannot establish his whereabouts. Akhsan supported Talekh Bagirzade and other defendants in the "Nardaran case" and disappeared on the eve of the announcement of the court verdict.
According to his relatives, he attended all the sessions on the "Nardaran case". Mainly, he stood in the street, among the group of public support, the advocate Yalchin Imanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
On the eve of sentencing on the "Nardaran case", two other active Bagirzade's supporters – the journalist Rovshan Mamedli and Tebriz Sibili – were sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest each. Yalchin Imanov has added that they were arrested on the accusation, standard for activists, – for disobeying policemen.
"Apparently, there is a new wave of arrests of religious activists," Elshan Gasanov, the Head of the Centre for Monitoring Political Prisoners, has suggested.
