"EcoWatch" reports capture of riverbank in Adygea for private beach
Deforestation and construction of a private beach are underway on the bank of the Kuban River in the Takhtamukai District of Adygea, although the land plot has not been transferred to anyone, the “Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus” (EcoWatch) has reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "EcoWatch" tried to draw attention to violations of the legislation at land distribution in the area of the Kuban River back in April 2015. The ecologists then found that the riverbank near the Non-Profit Partnership (NPP) "Zdorovye" (Health) in the Takhtamukai District of Adygea was captured, built up and fenced off.
Today, the “EcoWatch” has reported on the findings of a new environmental inspection, held by activists on April 5. In the course thereof, the environmentalists stated that "nothing has changed for the better; and none of the earlier identified violations was eliminated." Moreover, new violations of the law have been revealed.
"In the southern section of the above NPP, active construction works were underway. The river bank was deprived of its earlier soil layer; the forest was cut; and an excavator was busy on the exposed bank section forming a descent to the KubanRiver; part of its bed was covered with soil," the “EcoWatch” reports.
The workers explained to ecologists that in this place a "private beach" was being built. But, according to the public cadastral map, the coastline has not been granted to anybody into ownership or lease.
