Chechen women report unsuccessful attempts to return children from Syria and Iraq

In Grozny, women participating in a march, have reported that officials of the Chechen authorities promised to provide assistance to return Chechen children from Syria and Iraq.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 13, in Grozny, Chechen women went to a march with a call to the authorities to help in return of children from Syria and Iraq.

According to organizers, the action was attended by more than 60 people.

The information-analytical agency "Objective" acted as a co-organizer of the march. According to Kheda Saratova, the leader of the NGO, they receive appeals for assistance in the return of children not only from Chechnya, but also other regions and cities of Russia, in particular, Penza, Sochi, and Saint Petersburg.

According to Patimat, a participant of the march, her daughter with three children now stays in the Iraqi city of Mosul, "if they are alive." The woman said that she herself was looking for her daughter in Syria. She did not go with her, but promised to return home. She tried to send a two-year-old son with her grandmother to Russia, but after her husband's ban the child remained in Syria.

The woman has noted that after Ramzan Kadyrov returned a Chechen boy home she got a hope that he would help return her grandchildren.
