HRC "Memorial": in Chechnya, Moskalkova was deceived by missing persons’ brothers

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has found out that Chechen power agents had brought to the meeting with Tatiana Moskalkova, the Russian Ombudsperson, not Makhma Muskiev and Shamkhan Yusupov from the "execution list", but their brothers. Rights defenders insist that she must continue checking the information about extrajudicial executions in Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 20, two residents of Chechnya, who had earlier been declared dead, were brought to Grozny to meet Tatiana Moskalkova.

According to rights defenders, "relatives of missing persons were taken to police stations and warned that if they complained to Moskalkova, their families would be severely punished.

According to their data, power agents really brought two young people to Moskalkova, but not Shamkhan and Makhma, but their brothers." One of them was the 24-year-old Mansur Yusupov, the other – one of Makhma’s brothers, Umar or Abubakar Muskiev... Meanwhile, the fates of Shamkhan and Makhma are still unknown to their families," rights defenders assert.

The HRC "Memorial" also notes that Ms Moskalkova had not even asked why after Muskiev’s detention this January, his family was forced to leave their native village.
