Ramazan Abdulatipov calls on Vladimir Vasiliev to avoid team reforming

Vladimir Vasiliev, the new leader of Dagestan, is better to adjust certain areas rather than introduce reforms. This was stated by Ramazan Abdulatipov, the former leader of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3, the Russian President accepted the resignation of Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov. Vladimir Vasiliev, the head of the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party faction in the State Duma, was appointed the acting leader of the republic.

Ramazan Abdulatipov has welcomed the appointment of Vladimir Vasiliev as the new leader of Dagestan. He has noted that the Vladimir Vasiliev's main challenge is to choose the way for the further development of the republic.

"There are two options. The first one is to ensure continuity. Dagestan is the only region in Russia which over four years implements the project management in each direction of development ... I believe Vladimir Vasiliev is a very wise and experienced person, and he will follow this way," Ramazan Abdulatipov said.

He has mentioned a complete reform of the activities in the region as the second option.

Ramazan Abdulatipov has also added that the previous team in the republic should remain mostly unchanged.

Ramazan Abdulatipov has praised the new leader of Dagestan as a worthy politician and added that Vladimir Vasiliev will have to prove by deed he is the right person for the new appointment.

When asked what he can wish for Vladimir Vasiliev, Ramazan Abdulatipov replied: "It is important to 'understand' Dagestan, its culture and traditions. Such understanding should be integrated into the all-Russian space."
