Bombings and terror acts
On May 8, an explosion occurred in a room for ziyarat near the tomb of Said-Afandi of Chirkei in the village of Chirkei in the Buynaksk District. The tomb was severely damaged.
Responsibility for the explosion was claimed by the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, Abas Khubaev and Shamil Bilalov, members of the Khasavyurt grouping, are suspected of undermining the tomb. Meanwhile, there was no official confirmation of the information.
