Father of a teenager killed in Georgia complains about threats on social networks

Zaza Saralidze, a father of a schoolboy killed in Tbilisi, has submitted to the police screenshots of messages he received through social networks with threats of physical violence and insults.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 1, 2017, two teenagers, including a son of Zaza Saralidze, died from stab wounds got in a fight. Zaza Saralidze claims that investigators cover up the tracks of the persons guilty of the murder and demands fair punishment for them.

According to Zaza Saralidze, he started receiving threats after the Tbilisi Mayoralty had demanded from him and his supporters to release the territory in front of the parliament building by November 7 for preparations for the New Year holidays.

On November 9, the Tbilisi Mayoralty demanded from Zaza Saralidze to stop his protest. Officials stated that a New Year tree should be installed at the place of the protest action.

Zaza Saralidze receives messages with the demands to stop the rally in front of the parliament building and with threats that otherwise he will be "taken out" from there.

Earlier, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has commented on the collection of signatures under the petition in support of Zaza Saralidze and the refusal to install a New Year tree at the places of the protest action. The Mayor has found that offensive to Zaza Saralidze and said that the man was compared to a New Year tree.
