Students expelled from Grozny college after performing a rap hit

Magomed Basnukaev and Khalimat Tepsurkaeva, students of the College of Culture and Arts, have been expelled from the college after re-singing "Propaganda", a composition by rapper Miyagi. The college bosses have explained the expulsion by a ban on video filming in the building.

The video that appeared on the Internet shows a guy and a girl in a hijab, who perform the song together, by singing its lines in turn.

Today, the Telegram channel "Mash" has posted a screen of the order to expel Magomed and Khalimat. The document is dated December 15.

According to one version, teachers disliked the text of the song performed by students; according to another one, the reason for the expulsion was a violation of the rules of the educational establishment.

"The college charter stated that video filming in the college is strictly prohibited. [...] We had claims against these students for a long time; they have three reprimands each; they had skipped classes; and this was the last drop," the "Chechnya Today" News Agency quotes Angelika Zubairaeva, the director of the college named after V. A. Tataev, as saying.
