Mairbek Amaev's father asks police to find his son

The Grozny police have accepted the application submitted by the father of Mairbek Amaev about the disappearance of his son; policemen warned him that it could take a month to check the application.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that relatives of Mairbek Amaev, a resident of Grozny, informed that he disappeared at night on December 14 in the area of the former Old Marketplace. Instagram users have suggested that Amaev had been detained by law enforcers, but the latter told the relatives that he was not brought to them.

Mairbek's relatives have submitted an application about his disappearance to the Leninsky ROVD (District Interior Division) of Grozny, Movladi, his father, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We've filed an application. They took testimonies from me and from witnesses. In general, they are working on our application," he has added.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at Police Division No. 1 of the city of Grozny (Leninsky District) that they could not tell at what stage the consideration of the application was. "I don't know exactly who is considering it, but it can take up to 30 days to do the work," the officer on duty has explained.
