New settlers of Chechen village of Kadi-Yurt complain about quality of new houses
In the village of Kadi-Yurt, needy families have moved from barracks into the houses built in less than a month by the order of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. The haste in building has affected the quality, the new settlers have noted.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the construction of new houses for Kadi-Yurt villagers, who had lived in the barracks built back in 1895, began in late November.
Rumisa Sadykova, a resident of the new village, has thanked the head of Chechnya "for not leaving them in the street in winter."
Malika, another local resident, has stated that she "likes everything in her new house."
However, other villagers expressed doubts as to the quality of the new houses.
"It would be better if we were left in our barracks, while they were building properly, without haste. They used the cheapest materials; the masonry is uneven in places," said Umar, a local resident.
