NKR counts 200 shelling attacks during week
Since January 26, soldiers of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired about 1150 shots at positions of the Defence Army, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) reported on February 1.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 19-25, 2020, the NKR recorded 130 violations of ceasefire committed by the Azerbaijani party.
"During the period from January 26 to February 1, the Azerbaijani party violated the ceasefire for more than 2000 times on the contact line of the armed forces of the Republic of Artsakh (the historical name of the NKR, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") and Azerbaijan, by firing 1150 shots in the direction of Armenian position," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has translated the statement of the MoD of the NKR.
The Azerbaijani MoD did not post any comments on this statement on its website. According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", during the same period, from January 26 to February 1, Azerbaijan fixed a total of 158 shelling attacks on its positions from the territories of Armenia and the NKR. Thus, during 24 hours, from January 31 to February 1, there were 24 such cases, the Azerbaijani MoD has informed this morning.
Earlier, on January 30, the NKR's MoD also reported the death of a soldier, Vagram Avagyan. The circumstances in which he was fatally wounded were unknown, the MoD reported.
