Chechnya: Assembly of Caucasian Nations urges police to release detained invalid
Ruslan Turaev, a resident of Grozny, disappeared on February 9, and, as his relatives report, law enforcers refused to confirm his detention. They said that without the proper medications, Turaev could fall into coma. The Assembly of Caucasian Nations has urged the head of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) to help to set Turaev free.
The information about the disappearance of Ruslan Turaev, was spread on the Facebook by Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the above Assembly. Turaev did not know why he had been called to the police; and his relatives are still unaware of that, he has noted.
Mr Kutaev has emphasized that Turaev is a 60-year-old disabled person.
According to Turaev's relatives, he was captured in the street. On February 9, his wife managed to get through to him by phone, and he told her that they should soon release him. Then, his telephone was disconnected.
One of Turaev's relatives said that Ruslan had had two surgeries and was planning another one in the near future.
