Residents of Chechnya disbelieve wage growth statistics
In 2019, the average salary increased by 6% and reached 27,600 roubles, the "Chechenstat" has claimed. Most of employers offer much less salaries; and there were no bonuses or surpluses during the year, residents of the republic have stated.
According to the "Rosstat" (the Russian Federal Statistics Service), collected from September 2018 to August 2019, the average salary in Chechnya was 21,300 roubles. This is one of the lowest figures – Chechnya took the 76th place among Russian regions by this indicator.
According to the "Chechenstat", the republic's population is growing; as of January 1, 2020, it made 1.4768 million people.
Instagram users said they had not noticed the salary growth and complained that they received a much lower salary than the statistical average figure for Chechnya.
Chechen budget-funded employees also told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they had not noticed any salary increase.
Let us remind you that in November 2019, the "Grozny" TV Company showed a story that Chechen people "were becoming a society of loafers, where even a high salary is not always a reason to go to work." Residents of Chechnya said that workers are often deceived by not paying at all or paying much less than their official wages.
