Ayk Asryan incited to suicide, investigators suggest

A case on a death of Ayk Asryan, a contract soldier of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army, is being investigated under the article on incitement to suicide, the Investigating Committee of Armenia has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 14, contract soldier Ayk Asryan died on the defensive site of one of the military units in Nagorno-Karabakh, located in the eastern direction.

The criminal case on the contract soldier's death was instituted under the article on incitement to suicide, the "Sputnik Armenia" reported on February 16 with reference to the press service of the Investigating Committee of Armenia.

In 2019, 20 military servicemen of the Armenia Armed Forces and of the Defence Army of the NKR died during performing their service duties; other 29 deaths were not related to the army service, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Armenia reported. The number of deaths dropped by 22% against 2018.
