Kadyrov praises law enforcers for beating quarantine violator in Argun

The head of Chechnya has promised to reward policemen for beating a quarantined violator in the city of Argun and announced his readiness to "beat up people with truncheons and put them in jail" in order to protect the population from coronavirus.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that social network users criticized Chechen law enforcers after the video, in which policemen kicked a resident of Chechnya, who had violated the quarantine regime. Resonance was also triggered by the footage, in which law enforcers with polypropylene pipes observe the compliance of the quarantine regime.

An author of the comment to Kadyrov's statement on the Instagram has urged him to force the policemen who kicked a man in Argun to publicly apologize. But the head of Chechnya made it clear that he did not consider the law enforcers' actions in Argun to be incorrect. Moreover, he promised to reward the law enforcer for this incident.

"It's better for me to kick one than to bury thousands. Therefore, I'm taking such tough measures," Ramzan Kadyrov has stated.

Instead of law enforcers, the resident of Argun himself, humiliated by policemen, repented on air of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company), together with his brother and two other men, one of whom, according to the report author, filmed the incident on video, and the other "had immediately spread it."

However, the Argun police said that law enforcers' actions against Tulaev were not encouraged by the leadership of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
