They think in Chechnya, Baisarov was doomed to be killed, not arrested
In Chechnya, people think that liquidation of Movladi Baisarov, former commander of the "Gorets" (Mountaineer) special squadron was an act of intimidation, and they believe that his arresters were not going to leave him alive.
"The fact that Baisarov was doomed became clear after his last interviews, in which he denied his guilt of committing the crimes incriminated to him by the Republic's law enforcement bodies (murder of several members of the Musaevs family), and hinted that he knew the actual culprits who had committed the crimes. He could even tell where and when the victims' bodies had been buried. It is clear that he meant people from Ramzan Kadyrov's immediate retinue, and, possibly, even Kadyrov himself," Said Mukuev, 34, a resident of Grozny, supposed.
We note here that on October 21 Bislan Gantamirov, former mayor of Grozny, came to the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper and told the editorial board and a specially invited member of the investigation team engaged in Politkovskaya's case that several groups of Kadyrov's power agents were acting in Moscow with the aim to liquidate Gantamirov and Movladi Baisarov, and that one of these very groups had killed Anna Politkovskaya. He told names of some of the fighters from these groups. Journalists of the paper, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor-General's Office know the names, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports.
Movladi Baisarov, 40, former commander of the recently dissolved "Gorets" squadron of the former FSB Operations Department, was killed on November 18 in Moscow.
