Politkovskaya's murder condemned at informal EU summit
At Vladimir Putin's meeting with the leaders of European Union countries, the parties touched upon the issue of Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya's murder, Matti Vanhanen, Prime Minister of Finland, told the RIA "Novosti." "This terrible crime ought to be investigated," Mr. Vanhahen said to the press conference held on the outcomes of the informal meeting of the RF president with the leaders of EU countries.
Vladimir Putin again resolutely condemned Anna Politkovskaya's murder and assured that every possible measure to find the criminals is being taken, the "Vesti.ru" reports.
We remind you that Anna Politkovskaya, a "Novaya Gazeta" journalist, who was shot dead on October 7 in the doorway of her apartment block in Moscow, was famous, first of all, for her materials on Chechnya and North Caucasus.
