Witnesses state that Ulman was ordered to kill Chechnya residents

In Rostov-on-Don, at the North-Caucasian Military Court, three witnesses on the prosecution part were interrogated on Friday on "Ulman's case." Captain Anton Lukashevich, commander of one of reconnaissance groups that participated in the operation near the Dai village in January 2002, senior warrant officer Nikolai Epov and Alexander Krugalyov, commander of a scout group, presented their evidences.

Mr. Lukashevich, who was deployed not far from Ulman's group, reported to the court that he had heard radio talks of Ulman and Kalaganskiy and a report that Ulman's group had brought fire on a car and captured several persons. "In the course of radio exchange, he reported about sweeping the car, a casualty and wounded people. Then, the operative officer (Kalaganskiy) ordered him to liquidate the detainees and remain where he was," he said.

The two other witnesses who stayed near the operative officer gave similar evidences, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Captain Eduard Ulman, warrant officer Vladimir Voevodin, lieutenant Alexander Kalaganskiy and major Alexei Perelevskiy are accused of murdering peaceful residents of Chechnya.
