South Resource Centre: distribution of Putin's grants among NCOs has strengthened estrangement of public and power

The Krasnodar non-governmental organization (NGO) "South Regional Resource Centre" thinks that Vladimir Putin's order on state support of non-commercial organizations (NCOs) "has strengthened the estrangement of civil society and the power." This idea makes the topic of the appeals sent by the Centre yesterday, on December 27, to the President of Russia, to the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation (RF) and the Board of the RF President for promotion to development of civil society institutes and human rights, Mikhail Savva, director for grant programs of the South Resource Centre, told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot."

We remind you that the "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier that on December 15 this year, Vladimir Putin signed and order No. 628-rp on state support of non-commercial organizations (NCOs).

"The problems related to approval of the list of the NCOs, "participating in development of civil society institutes," have indeed appeared, and they are quite serious. I'm sure that this contest have departed the Russian power from the Russian civil society and caused damage to the authority of the Public Chamber and the President," Mikhail Savva noted.

In his opinion, should the Russian civil society keep silent now, next year will repeat the same non-transparent schemes, and the estrangement of the society from the power will get still greater.

  • Resident of North Ossetia treats compensation for beating up by law enforcer as insufficient

Soslan Dzidakhanov disagrees with the amount of compensation for his suffered moral harm that the Ardonsky Court awarded him for being beaten up by a law enforcer. In the Russian judicial practice, it is customary to decrease the compensation amount; and the resonance from Tskaev's case has partially contributed to a decrease in the number of tortures in the republic, Vladimir Tskaev's widow and his advocate have stressed.
