As a result of a search conducted on December 29 in the house of Vaan Iliyazovich Aroyan, resident of the village Lusarat, Ararat region, a cache with a lot of weapons and ammunition has been discovered, reports the press-service of the Armenian National Security Service.

The search has been conducted as part of the criminal investigation initiated with regard to Zhirair Sefilian and Vardan Malkhasian, leaders of the organization "Unity of Armenian Volunteers". Aroyan has been arrested.

For reference, lieutenant colonel Zhiraira Sefilian and Vardan Malkhasian, participants of the Karabakh war, were arrested by officers of the National Security Service on December 9. A criminal case was initiated against them under article 301 of the CC (public calls to forced overthrow of the constitutional order). Arrest was applied as a measure of restraint.

According to the statement of the National Security Service press-center, the organization "Unity of Armenian Volunteers" created by Zhirair Sefilian, citizen of Lebanon, and his supporters planned to instigate opposition to disobedience and clashes.

Notably, during the night of December 9 - 10, more than 30 participants of the Karabakh war were arrested and forcefully brought to various  police stations. Almost all of them, except Sefilizan and Malkhasian, have been released against recognizance not to leave.
