FPES refutes information on Kulaev's death

The Federal Punishment Execution Service (FPES) has denied the information on the death of Nurpashi Kulaev, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment for capture of hostages in Beslan school, the RIA "Novosti" informs with reference to the FPES press service.

According to the spokesman of the FPES press service, Mr. Nurpashi Kulaev is presently kept at the investigatory custody awaiting delivery for serving his punishment to the colony for life prisoners.

Earlier, the "Voice of Beslan" Public Committee has expressed doubts that Kulaev is still alive, and requested the fact to be proved. The doubts arose after he had not been brought to the session of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, where a cassation complaint on his verdict was considered.
