Opposition supporters come out to protest in Yerevan
Several hundred activists are holding a protest action in front of the parliament building in Yerevan, demanding the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 5, the opposition put forward an ultimatum to resign to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian Premier. The ultimatum expired on December 8, after which rallies of disobedience were held in different parts of Yerevan. Law enforcers responded by detaining activists. On December 9, oppositionists again went out to protest.
In Yerevan, Nikol Pashinyan's opponents gathered near the building of the country's National Assembly (Parliament). They are demanding his resignation; a regular sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers is being held amid the protest, the RIA "Novosti" has reported today.
Activists are holding flags and posters demanding Pashinyan's resignation, chanting "Armenia without Nikol!"
