Eight persons already detained in Turkey on Hrant Dink's murder
Today, in the centre of Yerevan, in the Square named after Charles Aznavur, belonging to the "Moscow" movie theatre, an action was held in memory of Hrant Dink, a well-known public figure of Turkey, a journalist of the Armenian origin, who was assassinated on January 19 in Istanbul, the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" reports.
On the case related to Mr. Dink's murder, the Istanbul police have already detained eight persons, the "Vesti" reports with a reference to the CNN-Turk TV Channel.
The ministers of internal affairs and justice of Turkey are personally participating in search of the organizers and performers of this crime. "The investigation runs non-stop. Any new data is delivered to all establishments engaged in disclosing the case," Muammer Guler, mayor of Istanbul, has assures.
Today, the police of Istanbul has disseminated a photo of the man, suspected of murdering Mr. Dink, and has addressed the witnesses of the incident with an appeal to help the investigation.
Hrant Dink was shot dead on Friday January 19, at about 4:00 p.m. local times (5:00 p.m. Moscow time) in Istanbul by three headshots. It happened, when he left the editorial board.
Alexander Iskandaryan, director of the Caucasian Mass Media Institute, thinks that Hrant Dink has been killed right because he was an Armenian.
