Melikov's promise to solve garbage problem causes social network users' scepticism
The head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, promised to launch, since March 1 on, systematic work on removing garbage dumps in the republic. Instagram users have urged authorities to move from promises to deeds and demonstrate a real solution to the problem of garbage collapse.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that activists in Dagestan launched a flash mob, within which fashion models are photographed against the background of garbage dumps in order to draw public attention to this problem.
The video record with Sergey Melikov informing that the systematic work on the treatment of municipal solid wastes in Dagestan is planned to start since March was posted on February 15 on the "dagnews.today" Instagram page.
In the video, Sergey Melikov said that the systemic work schedule for garbage collection would start on March 1. As a result, the garbage problem will be completely solved in the region.
In their comments to the post, social network users have called on Melikov to show the real result of solving the garbage problem. "Stop telling how you'll do something; start doing something already," the user rajab1010 has demanded. "It's just the time to stop talking in vain and get down to work, otherwise there are just endless unnecessary talks," the user cccp.35.47 was outraged.
Many commentators reacted sceptically to the regional leader's promises. "They'll choose a new regional operator again, raise prices; and again hundreds of people will be left without work, won't they?" the user vsego_ponemnogu_05 asked questions.
