Chechnya's ombudsman revealed human rights violations in Chernokozovo's "SIZO"

On commission of Ramzan Kadyrov, prime minister of Chechnya, an inspection was held on observance of human rights in the Grozny pre-trial detention centre ("SIZO") and the colony for the victims located in the settlement of Chernokozovo. According to Nordi Nukhazhiev, Chechnya's ombudsman, violations of the law were revealed in the Grozny "SIZO."

In his words, at the "SIZO," they "keep persons on remand, TB and mental patients together with healthy people," the "Interfax" Agency reports.

Besides, according to Mr. Nukhazhiev, the persons under investigation complained on the attempts to get their evidences with the help of "prohibited and legally-banned methods."

Meanwhile, the press service of the Chair of the Government of the Chechen Republic has disseminated information running that the revealed violations were committed by the employees of the Operative-Search Bureau-2 of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the South Federal District (SFD).
