Journalists intend to boost investigation of Anna Politkovskaya's murder

Journalists' investigation of Anna Politkovskaya's murder "committed in February will be full-scale unfolded," Dmitri Muratov, Editor-in-Chief of the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper, has stated on live air of the "Echo Moskvy" Radio Station.

"In the nearest future, most probably in February, we'll accept the proposal of the World Congress of Publishers on setting up a journalists' pool from best investigators of major global editions for running an independent and parallel investigation into this murder," Mr. Muratov. "We've asked our colleagues not to come while the official investigation was on, but in February we'll deploy our activities."

We remind you that Anna Politkovskaya, journalist of the "Novaya Gazeta," shot dead on October 7, was known first of all for her materials on Chechnya and North Caucasus.
