Leader of youth movement "Eni Fikir" tortured in Azerbaijan
Ruslan Bashirli, chairman of the "Eni Fikir" Movement, who is serving his penalty in Azerbaijan, was beaten, shaved clean and put into the dungeon. The reason was his story about illegal actions in the prison, told by him to human rights activists who have visited him these days. Bashirli's relatives have informed the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" about it.
Ruslan Bashirli was detained in August 2005. In September Said Nuri, his deputy, and Ramin Tagiev were also arrested. Mr. Bashirli was accused of a plot, in conspiracy with Armenian special agencies, with the aim to provoke disorders in Azerbaijan. Mr. Nuri was accused of preparing a coup d'etat.
