Grozny state servants forced to take part in community clean-up events

Employees of Grozny kindergartens and schools have received instructions from officials to take part in subbotniks (community clean-up works), which, according to the decision of city authorities, begin on April 1.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Chechnya repeatedly complained about forcing to take part in subbotniks. Thus, in September 2020, budget-funded employees of the Urus-Martan District reported that they had been forced to take part in the subbotnik organized by local authorities, and apart from the territories occupied by the organizations themselves, they had to clean additional appointed areas.

The city of Grozny starts large-scale subbotniks since April 1, reported the newly appointed Mayor of the city (transferred from the acting status), Khas-Magomed Kadyrov.

Zarema, an educator of the junior group of a kindergarten in Grozny, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she and her colleagues had received instructions from officials of the Oktiabrsky District Administration to clean not only the territory of their preschool institution, but also of the adjacent streets. "There are no big houses near our kindergarten, there are private houses around. The housewives there used to sweep near their houses, and then they don't take away garbage' and they don't whitewash trees. We have to do this," she said indignantly.
