Nikoleishvili: Georgia runs no negotiations on AMD deployment

Levan Nikoleishvili, deputy minister of defence of Georgia, has stated that Georgia does not conduct any negotiations about deployment of the American anti-missile defence (AMD) system in its territory. According to him, Americans did not address with this sort of request to the Georgian party, the "Gazeta.ru" reports.

In Mr. Nikoleishvili's words, the official position of Tbilisi on the issue will be voiced when the AMD deployment would become a real subject.

At the same time, the Green Party of Georgia is convinced that a possible deployment of the elements of the US' AMD system in the territory of Georgia will be aimed against Iran and will make an inevitable threat to Georgia. According to the IA REGNUM Agency, Giorgi Gachechiladze, leader of the Green Party of Georgia, told about it to the journalists.
