South Ossetia accuses Georgia of shelling Ossetian village
Today, early in the morning, at 6:45 a.m., four UAZ model jeeps with allegedly Georgian special unit ("spetsnaz") fighters in them entered the Ossetian village of Kvatetri (in the pre-frontier zone with Georgia) and opened fire on the village, the Ministry of Defence and Emergencies of South Ossetia has reported. "After we started to deploy the self-defence forces of South Ossetia towards the village of Kvatetri, the jeeps returned to the Georgian territory," the source at the Ministry has added.
Currently, the place of the accident is studied by the OSCE military observers and representatives of the Mixed Peace-Keeping Forces (MPKF) in Georgian-South-Ossetian conflict zone. "The monitoring results will be made public after summing up," Captain V. Ivanov, assistant of the MPKF Commander for public relations, has reported to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot."
