Public prosecutor demands life sentence for an attempt on the head of the Dagestan Pension Fund
At the process on the case on the attempt committed on Amuchi Amutinov, former vice-premier of the Republic and head of the Dagestan branch of the Russian Pension Fund, the public prosecutor has demanded the court to sentence brothers Magomed and Gazimagomed Gairbekov to life imprisonment.
This is already the second process on attempts on Mr. Amutinov, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports. The first one ended in February 2006 with an acquittal verdict to all four defendants. However, last June the Supreme Court returned the case for new consideration. In the accusation's version, brothers Magomed and Gazimagomed Gairbekov are those very culprits, who exploded, on November 3, 2004, in Makhachkala and on February 16, 2005, in Kizlyar, explosive-stuffed automobiles along the route Amutinov's car travel.
