Azerbaijan updates data on casualties during autumn war

The remains of two more Azerbaijani militaries, who had been listed as missing since the fall of 2020, have been found in the Karabakh conflict zone and buried. Eight military servicemen are still on the list of missing persons, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that as of June 14, 2021, a total of 2904 Azerbaijani militaries perished in Karabakh; 10 others were reported missing. About 4000 soldiers perished on the Armenian side. By April 14, the bodies of 3621 of them were identified; 321 Armenian soldiers were listed as missing. By June 13, Karabakh rescuers found the bodies of 1576 people in the battlefields.

According to the latest data of the Azerbaijani MoD, the death toll during the hostilities in the fall of 2020 went up to 2906, while the number of missing persons dropped down to eight.

On June 27, Elkhan Yunisli, a military serviceman, born in 1995, who had been listed as missing in the Murovdag direction since the fall of 2020, was buried in the village of Tezekend, Shamkir District. On the same day, the funeral of Elmaddin Gasratov, born in 1997, who also went missing in Murovdag during the hostilities, was held in the village of Garasuchu, Goranboy District, the "Report" Agency has informed.
