Over sixty thousand refugees have already returned to Abkhazia
As of today, more than 60,000 refugees have returned to Abkhazia. President Sergey Bagapsh has announced the fact on air of the Abkhazian TV in answer to the question on when the return of refugees would start to the whole territory of the Republic. The president has emphasized that the quadrilateral agreement on voluntary return of refugees envisages a stage-by-stage fulfilment of the process, the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" reports.
At the same time, Sergey Bagapsh has stated that "Georgia has frustrated all its obligations under earlier adopted agreements."
In the words of Mr. Bagapsh, Georgia is opposing to implementing the plan of the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) on registering the refugees who have already returned to the Galskiy District. The president has noted that the success of any negotiating process depends on all the parties fulfilling their achieved agreements; Georgia either refuses to fulfil them or is permanently revising the points.
