Relative claims Krasikov looking like person accused of killing Chechen Khangoshvili

The person accused of killing Zelimkhan Khangoshvili looks like Vadim Krasikov, said a latter's relative, but could not confidently identify him. The relative has refrained from identifying the defendant out of fears for his safety, Hristo Grozev, the head of the Bellingcat's investigation division, has written.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first hearing on the murder of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, a native of the Pankisi Gorge, was held in Berlin on October 7, 2020. Investigators believe the accused to be Vadim Krasikov. The Bellingcat has concluded from the investigation that the detainee had passports for two different names. This suggests that he had collaborated with Russian special services.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated earlier that authorities of Chechnya and Russia had nothing to do with Khangoshvili's murder.

The husband of Vadim Krasikov's sister, Alexander V., a businessman from Kharkov, stated at the Berlin court that Krasikov had worked in a "sabotage unit of the Russian Armed Forces," the Dozhd (Rain) TV Channel reports, citing a Hristo Grozev's publication in the "Newlines".

Let us remind you that on March 2, 2021, the authors of the investigation conducted by Der Spiegel, The Insider and Bellingcat reported that Krasikov's wife and daughter flew under false names from Germany to Moscow, and then to Crimea, and during the latter flight they were accompanied by an FSB officer.
