Criminal case of two earlier amnestied militants delivered to Chechnya's Supreme Court
The Investigatory Department of the Chief Administration of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation for the South Federal District (SFD) has completed the enquiry into the criminal case in relation to two Chechen separatists - Shirvani Gatsaev and Mokhdan Elgakaev. This was reported today by the press service of the Chief Administration of the State Office of Public Prosecutor for the SFD.
The investigation has established that in June 2004 the defendants took part in the attack on Ingushetian militiamen, servicemen and citizens. As a result of that terror act, 80 persons perished.
On August 13, 2005, a group under command of Albek Bugaev committed an armed attack on militaries and citizens in the village of Roshi-Chu of the Urus-Martan District of Chechnya with the aim to assassinate the head of Administration S. Beksultanov and his relatives. As a result of the attack, 5 servicemen were killed, one soldier was wounded, and a number of buildings was ruined or damaged. The inflicted harm made over 22 million roubles.
