Politkovskaya's son asks life imprisonment for his mother's killers
Ilya, journalist Anna Politkovskaya's son thinks that his mother's assassins deserve life imprisonment. He told about it in his interview to the "Gazeta GZT.ru."
According to Ilya, in the course of investigation the circle of suspects and the versions did not change, and they are now under study. It is already known that the killer was not a solitary psychopath. "The murder was prepared and executed by a group of persons. It was a cold-blooded intent, not a vengeance, although the murder itself was a stupid idea. They were small-minded people. Shooting on Putin's birthday was an obvious blunder on their part; they couldn't have expected this scale of resonance," Ilya has told.
He noted that he was generally satisfied with the investigators' work.
Ilya has also refuted the version that Anna Politkovskaya had been killed to prevent publication of a number of revelatory articles.
"I have examined her archives myself and know that not a single word has remained unpublished," he added.
