Khasavyurt resident accused of financing IS*

The inquiry into a criminal case initiated against a resident of Khasavyurt accused of transferring money to a militant of the "Islamic State" (IS)*, a terrorist organization banned in Russia, is over, investigators have reported.

The 31-year-old defendant faces life imprisonment under the article "Financing of terrorism".

According to investigators, in September 2018, the defendant gave 8000 roubles to his acquaintance for further transfer to an IS* member.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on August 9, two residents of Makhachkala were accused of involvement in the IS*. According to investigators, they knew that their acquaintance had been participating in a terrorist organization and was preparing to create an armed grouping in the territory of Dagestan and Stavropol Territory, but failed to notify law enforcers about it.
